The ProCon CVSR in a nutshell you can do whatever you want with them. If you overload them with surge they simply switch 'off' safely. The ProCon CVSR simply removes the load then open circuits the relay within its rating.
A ProCon CVSR, in an overload situation, will take, for example, a 200A surge for a split second and reduce it to a safe 6 amps. The relay will then safely open circuit with a 6 amp load and not a 200 amp load. This protects the relay and your installation. Once the high load demand has been removed then the relay is safe to reengage and continue doing its job.
